Big news for endangered, giant reptile enthusiasts: 22 Komodo dragons have hatched at the LA Zoo since Aug 8, all offspring of a single female.

County commissioners this week approved a zoning change that will allow a nonprofit organization to study and breed eastern indigo snakes on 25 acres in east Lake, despite a neighbor's complaint.

They hope to breed as many as 300 snakes a year.
